Starting on the freelance journey offers a world of opportunities allowing them to pursue their passions, manage their schedules, and enjoy a sense of freedom unparalleled in a traditional employment. However, this path comes with its own set of challenges requiring discipline, organization, and strategic planning to navigate successfully in this blog. We’ll explore eight practical ways to simplify your freelance life, ensuring a smoother and more fulfilling journey.

    1.Have a routine:

One of the perks of freelancing is the flexibility it affords, but without structure it’s easy to lose focus and productivity. Establishing a daily routine and  dedicated work hours helps to create a sense of rhythm and consistency, making it easier to manage tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.

    Get more organized with Trello
This collaborative tool organizes projects and ideas on boards. Each board has multiple lists of things to do.

    2.Create a workspace:

Designating a specific workspace area besides personal spaces can significantly enhance productivity and focus. Whether it’s home office or co-working space, or a coffee shop, having a dedicated workspace helps signal to your brain that it’s time to buckle down and get things done.

Slack is a popular messaging and collaborative platform which enables freelancers to communicate with clients and team members in real time. Users can create channels for different projects, share files, conduct voice and video calls.

    3. Network strategically:

Networking is a cornerstone of success in the freelance world. Building and nurturing relationships within your industry can open doors to new opportunities ,collaboration, and referrals. Whether through attending industry events, joining online communities, or leveraging social media platforms.

One of the biggest and fastest-growing freelancer marketplaces is PeoplePerHour. I can quickly promote myself to hundreds of firms and offer my services in the form of Hourlies, which are small, quick fixed-price assignments, on this platform, which is currently my favorite for acquiring new clients.

4.If your client refuses to use Skype, don’t give up…Check out Rebtel.

Calling a client the old-fashioned method is preferred by some. As easy as that. Rebtel connects to the international number of your choice once you call a local number in your area. The pricing is competitive, and signing up is quite easy.

    5.Do your finances properly

Don’t get paid via PayPal… Use Wind.app, and avoid their fees.

Set up a Wind.app account, and open a balance in different crypto currencies and also convert them to Fiat.  You get your own bank details for these currencies, and if you place these details in your invoice your clients can pay you via a local bank transfer. You and your client could save as much as 7-8% in fees compared to an international bank transfer or PayPal.
